This August, one of our amazing yoga instructors will be off to conquer something amazing – she will be ascending Snobasin Mountain 13 times to accumulate 29,029’ elevation gain (the elevation gain of Mt. Everest). Oh, did I mention this has to be completed in 36 hours? Yep. The official event is called 29029 Everesting.
Since we can’t be there to cheer her on, how about we join her here in Chelan?? The Butte is 2,665 elevation gain from bottom to towers. That’s 11 ascents over the course of 1.5 days.
We’re calling it Everesting the Butte - if you would like to participate, here’s the concept:
We'll plan on taking 3 hours to complete the 3.7 mile hike from Butte Trailhead to the towers. Someone will be there with a walkie talkie and a car. Once you arrive at the top, the next team of no less than 2 can start ascending. The car will bring the top team back down to the start.
If we don't have enough folks to do back to back hikes, let’s pull together 11 people (or fewer if you want to do the hike multiple times) to get 11 ascents completed up to the towers.
Who’s interested in participating??? The night ascents will need at LEAST 2 people hiking together (9pm-3am start times).
We will also need transportation volunteers to pick up hikers at the top and bring them back down to the Butte Trailhead parking lot.
